About Black Dragon Pool
Black Dragon Pool is a serene park located just north of Lijiang Old Town, famous for the iconic photograph of the Five-Arch Bridge reflecting in mirror-still waters with Jade Dragon Snow Mountain as a backdrop. The park is centered around a clear spring that feeds the pool, with traditional pavilions, temples, and gardens arranged around the water.
The park offers a peaceful retreat from the busy old town, with tree-lined paths, ancient cypress trees, and views of the snow mountain on clear days. The Five-Arch Bridge, built during the Ming Dynasty, is the park's centerpiece — its five arches reflected perfectly in the calm water create one of Lijiang's most photographed scenes. The park is especially beautiful in the early morning when the water is still and the light is soft.
