About Giant Panda Breeding Research Base
The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is the world's most successful giant panda conservation facility, home to over 200 giant pandas in semi-natural habitats. The base was established in 1987 to study and breed these endangered animals, and has become one of Chengdu's most popular attractions.
Visitors can observe pandas eating bamboo, playing, climbing trees, and caring for their cubs in enclosures designed to mimic their natural mountain habitat. The base also houses red pandas, other endangered species, and extensive bamboo gardens. Morning is the best time to visit, as pandas are most active during feeding hours. The base plays a crucial role in global panda conservation efforts.
