About Ice & Snow World
Harbin Ice and Snow World is the crown jewel of the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival, held annually from late December through February. Each year, thousands of workers harvest massive blocks of ice from the frozen Songhua River and transform them into an ephemeral city of ice castles, sculptures, and slides.
The park covers 800,000 square meters and features buildings up to 45 meters tall, all carved from ice. At night, LED lights embedded in the ice create a dazzling display of colors, turning the frozen structures into a glowing winter wonderland. Visitors can slide down ice slides, explore ice mazes, and marvel at life-sized replicas of famous landmarks.
What Not to Miss
The main ice castle complex, often replicating famous structures like the Great Wall or Forbidden City in ice form.
The illuminated ice slides — some reaching 300 meters long — for a thrilling ride through the frozen park.
Night views after 5pm when all the LED lights activate, creating a spectacular neon ice city.
