About Luoyang Museum
Luoyang Museum is one of China's finest museums, showcasing the city's extraordinary history as the ancient capital of 13 dynasties. The museum's collection spans from prehistoric times to the modern era, with particular strength in bronze vessels from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, Tang tri-color pottery (sancai), and artifacts from the Silk Road.
The museum's exhibits reveal Luoyang's role as a center of Chinese civilization for over 3,000 years. Highlights include bronze ritual vessels, jade carvings, ceramics, and treasures from the tombs of ancient nobles. The Tang tri-color pottery — glazed ceramics in yellow, green, and white — is particularly well represented, showing the cosmopolitan culture of Tang Dynasty Luoyang.
