About Italian Style Town
The Italian Style Town (Yishifengqingqu) is a meticulously restored historic district that was once the Italian concession in Tianjin's treaty port era. Built between 1902 and 1945, the area features over 200 buildings in Italian Renaissance, Baroque, and Eclectic styles — a unique architectural heritage that survived China's turbulent 20th century.
Today, the district has been revitalized as a cultural and entertainment area. The central piazza features a fountain and statue, surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and boutiques housed in the original villas. Walking through the narrow streets, you'll encounter former residences of historical figures, churches, and clubs that once served Tianjin's Italian community.
